Photograph of a great horned owl, also known as the tiger owl or the hoot owl. it is a large own native to the Americas. Scientific name is Bubo virginianus. They nest in tree holes, stumps, caves of in the abandoned nests of other large birds. The Average Life spen in the wild is 5 to 15 years, they weight 2 to 5.5 pounds. The mail is smaller than the female and has a lower-pitched call.
